OCEAN ROOM NEWS

August 9-13

Hi families,

Sadly we will be saying goodbye to many of our Ocean Room friends this week as they embark on the next step of their educational journey. It has been a pleasure for all of us in the Ocean Room to have had this wonderful opportunity to be a small part of your children's first school experience. Each of them has brought something special to our classroom and we will remember each of them fondly. Don't forget to keep in touch and come visit us often. To those who will be returning to the Ocean Room in September, we are excited to have you back for another year of learning and fun.

This week we will be talking extensively about the upcoming changes and will do our best to ensure the children that change, while sometimes scary, can bring exciting new opportunities. Already the children have been able to communicate some of their fears (i.e. "Kindergarten is going to be bad because there are too many rules.") and we have had lively discussions that have alleviated some of their anxiety. If you have anything you would like us to address regarding this, please let us know and we'd be happy to incorporate it during the week.

Weather permitting, we will be going to beach on Monday for our field trip. If your child does not have a swimsuit at school, please send them in with one on Monday. Please DO NOT SEND LUNCHES THAT REQUIRE HEATING on the field trip day.
