Dear Bunny Room Families:

Although the weather has been quite strange here in Syracuse, our focus has been winter. And, since we haven't made it outdoors yet, the snow was brought inside for playing in the sensory table. In the pretend play area, some of the children have been developing their dressing skills by trying to put on the winter boots, pants, jackets, hats and mittens. This past Wednesday group time, the children gathered at the table to fingerpaint with shaving cream, pretending it was snow. In addition, mixed in with the winter matching activities were color and shape games.

We do hope to get outside to play in the snow, when it's not too cold, muddy or rainy. If you haven't sent in winter clothes--snow pants jacket or snowsuit, mittens, boots and a hat, please do so. We apologize for being nonspecific with our outdoor playing times.

THANK YOU everyone for helping out with washing your child's hands each morning, before he/she heads to a play activity. And thank you for the recent scholastic book orders.

CALENDAR REMINDERS:

Sunday, February 12, 2012 (from 2:00 to 4:00): The first annual Jowonio Art Show will take place in the Community Room. Children's artwork from all of the Jowonio classrooms-- yes, even the Bunny Room!--will be displayed. We are also hoping to have an activity where adults and kids can make a quilt square, which will be put together into a large quilt to warm up the Community Room wall. Other items on the docket during the show include drinks and snacks and a raffle of art-related baskets and items. The funds raised will support the art program at the school.

February 20th - 23rd - NO SCHOOL - Mid-Winter Break
